Metropolitan Museum of Art | The MET

Adult: $25
Located along Museum Mile on elegant Fifth Avenue, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of New York City’s top sightseeing destinations—and for good reason. One of the top museums in the world, it houses a staggering array of varying types of art, from all kinds of different eras. And you’ll see some of the most iconic works of art ever created, like Jackson Pollock’s highly recognizable “Autumn Rhythm (Number 30)” and Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies.” The many different galleries include everything from early American domestic arts to Asian art to Modern and Contemporary art and photographs. Housed in a majestic building designed by famed architects Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wray Mould, the Met has expanded greatly over the years, and part of the wonder of seeing it is discovering its many different architecture and viewing experiences, including sweeping vistas of Central Park. Open seven days a week, the Met offers lots of special exhibitions throughout the year, so don’t hesitate to ask one of the docents at the information desk for advice on what to see (and what not to miss).

Now open 7 days a week! Children under 12 are free with adult!
