Explore America's Innovation and Bravery at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

American history has been filled with exciting technological advances that have changed the world of sea, air, and space travel. Explore Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, an educational center that exhibits the enormous Intrepid Air Craft Carrier along with other historic sea, air and space vessels. This exhibition will not be the standard museum fare but will be an engrossing audio-visual experience with hands on interactive elements that will leave you in awe.

Watch History Come Alive in the Backdrop of the USS Intrepid

The USS Intrepid is an aircraft carrier, known as the “The Fighting I” served during World War II. It served in the Pacific during the Second World War and briefly in the Atlantic during the Vietnam War. You will get to walk around the Flight Deck and experience first hand the scale and size of the ship that carried thousands of sailors through multiple conflicts. History will come alive as you can see and touch some of the history’s greatest technological advances in aviation and aquatic vessels. The Intrepid is the centerpiece of this museum that also includes some of the world’s speediest jets like the McDonnell F-4N Phantom II 1960 and a guided missile submarine.

Not only do you get to see the historic crafts, this educational center immerses the audience in the stories of the many heroes that helped innovate and advance technology and the many heroes that used this technology to serve America. One of the exhibits at the center allows you to see, hear, and experience the environment used to help train astronauts: the Neutral Buoyancy Lab. Additionally, you will get to see the space shuttle Enterprise, the first space shuttle built for NASA. This spacecraft was used to develop the technology necessary for future spacecrafts to enter space and eventually make it to the moon.

Enjoy the Artistic Brilliance of the Hubble Space Telescope

The HUBBLE@25 is a temporary exhibit in the Space Shuttle Pavilion that explores the 25 years of scientific achievement of the Hubble Space Telescope. You will be up close with the artifacts and be astounded by the deep space images that the Telescope has produced in over two decades of exploration. This unique exhibit is included in the ticket price of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and alone will be well worth the price of admission.
